The two-hour rule
USDA says perishable food should be refrigerated within two hours, or within one hour when the temperature is above 90 F.
Refrigerator and freezer
USDA's cold-storage chart lists pizza at three to four days refrigerated and one to two months frozen for best quality.
Pack it well
Wrap slices or place them in a covered container. Shallow storage helps food cool more quickly than leaving a stacked box on the counter.
Use a federal source
Read the current USDA leftovers and food safety guidance. When in doubt, throw the food away.
